Common Dietary Restrictions We Can Accommodate
We regularly accommodate vegetarian and vegan diets, gluten-free, dairy-free, nut and shellfish allergies, and other needs. Most restaurants in major cities and tourist areas are used to these requests. If your restriction is rare or very strict (like celiac disease), tell us in detail so we can check with the kitchen in advance. For more information on the types of experiences available, see what kind of day do you want?.
What to Expect for Lunch on Sea and Snorkeling Tours
On sea day tours from Hurghada, Sharm El Sheikh, Marsa Alam, or Dahab, lunch is served on the boat. It is usually a buffet or set menu with grilled chicken or fish, salads, rice, pasta, and fruit. Vegetarian options are always available if requested ahead. Drinks like bottled water are included; sodas or juices may be extra. We do not offer diving days—our sea trips are for snorkeling only.
Lunch on Museum and Pyramid Tours
On classic sightseeing days in Cairo, Giza, Luxor, or Aswan—such as the Giza pyramids and the Egyptian Museum or Grand Egyptian Museum and the pyramids—lunch is at a local Egyptian restaurant. The meal is typically a set menu with grilled chicken or kofta (beef/lamb), rice, salad, tahini, and bread. If you request vegetarian or vegan, expect dishes like falafel, lentil soup, grilled vegetables, and rice-stuffed vegetables.
How to Communicate Your Dietary Needs
When booking, tell us about any allergies, restrictions, or preferences. You can message us on WhatsApp, email, or include details in your booking form. If you have severe allergies, specify the ingredient and level of sensitivity. For last-minute tours, we still try to accommodate, but options may be more limited. For more on booking timelines, see booking an Egypt Day Tour last minute or in advance.
What Is Not Included and What to Expect With Drinks
Bottled water is always included with lunch. Soft drinks and juices are usually available for purchase. Alcohol is rarely served at lunch except in some tourist restaurants in Cairo or the Red Sea resorts, and only if requested in advance. If you need a specific drink (like soy milk or a particular juice), let us know, but it may not always be available outside major cities.
