Egypt day tours for couples: sunset, evening and sunrise options

Sunset, evening and sunrise tours for two, what private means, and the custom on public affection.

In short
  • Couple-friendly tours sit at the ends of the day: felucca sail, dinner cruise, sound and light show, Al-Azhar Park at dusk, sunrise balloon.
  • The car and guide are private on every tour; the Nile cruise boat, the balloon and the Tanoura show are shared with other guests.
  • Every tour starts and ends at your hotel, so an evening ends at your door.
  • Sources agree public affection should stay mild but differ on hand-holding (as of October 2026).
  • Prices are per person for two or more, which is how a couple is quoted.

For a couple, the best Egypt day tours sit at the ends of the day: a felucca at sunset, a Nile dinner cruise, a sound and light show, a Luxor balloon at sunrise or Al-Azhar Park at dusk. On our tours the car and the guide are private, so a couple travels as its own group. One custom is worth knowing: published sources agree that public affection should stay mild.

On the Red Sea, the Hurghada desert safari and the Marsa Alam sunset quad safari are sunset-and-evening tours with a camel ride and a barbecue dinner; both are more active than the rest. The Siwa trips are multi-day and left out here.

What "private" gives a couple

The car and the guide are private to your group on every tour, so a couple has the vehicle and the guide to itself even when the boat, the balloon or the show is shared with other guests. Every tour starts and ends at your hotel, which means an evening ends at your door. A stop can be skipped or the order changed where the tour allows, and you ask before booking. Prices are per person for two or more people, which is how a couple is quoted. If a balloon flight is cancelled for weather, you get another date or a full refund. Private day tours in Egypt covers the rest.

Choosing between them

Each of these is its own tour, booked on its own request. A request for tomorrow, or even the same day, is fine, and the reply comes within an hour at most.

Public affection and couple etiquette in Egypt

This is customary advice from published sources as of October 2026, not our policy. The sources agree that affection beyond mild is not the norm in public; they differ on hand-holding.

SourceOn holding hands and affection
UK FCDOPhysical affection in public is frowned upon, but holding hands is generally fine.
Lonely PlanetHolding hands will not draw much attention; keep public contact mild and proper.
Intrepid TravelAny public affection is a big no-no, and even holding hands is not really approved of.
Holiday ExtrasAffection including holding hands and kissing is considered offensive; wait until you are back in your accommodation.

Dress follows the same line: sources advise covering the shoulders and knees, with a scarf or wrap for mosques, and more relaxed clothing at beach resorts. The sources reviewed give no separate rule for honeymooners, so the same advice applies. A guide on your tour can say what is usual at each stop. See visiting mosques and churches before a day that includes one.
