Or fly to Cairo from Sharm El Sheikh for the pyramids and the Grand Egyptian Museum; the flights are not included in the tour price.

The Blue Hole, a quad and a camel

Snorkeling means swimming at the surface with a mask, a breathing tube and fins to look at the reef below. The equipment is included. The first stop is the Blue Hole, 9.7 km from your hotel, about 14 min without traffic. The quad biking in the desert starts 9.7 km from the Blue Hole, about 14 min without traffic; a quad bike is a four-wheeled motorbike built for sand and rough tracks. A camel ride follows, then the transfer back to your hotel. Bottled water and soft drinks are included.

The listing does not say you are picked up at your hotel: it lists a meet-and-assist service and private air-conditioned transportation, so confirm where you are collected through our contact page. More desert days are on the desert experiences page.

Mount Sinai at night

The Mount Sinai tour is private, just your group, with an English-speaking guide in a private air-conditioned vehicle. The drive from your hotel to Mount Sinai is 129 km, about 2 h 6 min without traffic, and the climb is at night, to reach the summit for sunrise. The mountain is traditionally held to be where Moses received the Ten Commandments. At St Catherine's Monastery, whose entry fee is included, you see its collection of old icons, manuscripts and religious objects and the Burning Bush site. The drive back to Dahab is 128.6 km, about 1 h 36 min without traffic.

UNESCO inscribed the Saint Catherine Area on its World Heritage list in 2002. The night is set out step by step in Mount Sinai at night: how the sunrise climb runs.

Cairo by plane from Sharm El Sheikh

The Cairo day is private, just your group, with an English-speaking Egyptologist (a specialist in ancient Egypt). In order:

  1. Hotel pickup in Dahab and the drive to Sharm El Sheikh airport: 89.3 km, about 78 min without traffic.
  2. Flight to Cairo, not included in the tour price; you meet your guide on arrival.
  3. Pyramids of Giza: 41.5 km from Cairo airport, about 46 min without traffic.
  4. Great Sphinx and Valley Temple, 0.7 km from the pyramids.
  5. Lunch at a local restaurant in Cairo; drinks with the meal are not included.
  6. Grand Egyptian Museum, 6.8 km from the Sphinx, about 11 min without traffic, with thousands of ancient artifacts including the treasures of King Tutankhamun.
  7. Cairo airport, 41.4 km from the museum, about 43 min without traffic, for the flight back to Sharm El Sheikh.
  8. Drive to your Dahab hotel with a representative: 92.4 km from Sharm El Sheikh airport, about 74 min without traffic.

The Tutankhamun Galleries are at the Grand Egyptian Museum, and its standard admission includes them; the entrance fee is part of the tour. Going inside the Great Pyramid is optional and not included, and there is no Khan El Khalili stop. The tour gives no flight times, so check how the day lines up before you book flights. How this day differs from the Cairo days by plane from the other resorts is in Cairo in a day from Hurghada: how the day runs.

Which day fits

  • A day near town: the Blue Hole, the quad and the camel.
  • Sunrise from a summit and a monastery: Mount Sinai, a night on the road.
  • The pyramids and Tutankhamun's treasures: Cairo, with the road to and from Sharm El Sheikh airport on both ends of the day.

All our tours from the town are on the Dahab page.
